  1. The “holy grail” framing is industry-side, not neutral. Industry actors themselves name harvest automation as the hardest problem. Investor pitches often conflate progress on weeding with progress on harvest.

  2. The technical limits are concrete, not media-hype. Sullivan’s field research documents specific failure modes of automated lettuce harvesters:
