Talks — Index
Quick-reference table for the six working archetypes in talks/archetypes/. Each archetype is a complete run-of-show designed for a specific combination of audience, duration, analytical spine, and region emphasis.
Archetypes
| # | Title | Spine | Audience | Duration | Region emphasis | Depth |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 01 | What’s actually deployed | vendor-sweep | mixed public, students | 45 min | Global, with Canadian anchor (Japan/Korea vendor-deployments integrated) | literate |
| 02 | Who’s your data working for | data-sovereignty | farmer co-ops, mixed public (Canada) | 45 min | Canada (Ontario-anchored), with EU-NL comparison and Japan/India state-DPI cross-reference; Chile-Canada cross-border seed-AI cluster pattern (added July 19 2026) | working |
| 03 | Canada lags and that’s the story | adoption-diagnosis | policy, leadership | 20 min | Canada (national), with Korea 30%-by-2027 + Japan WAGRI peer-country comparison | specialist |
| 04 | The cooperative alternative | cooperative-alternative | policy, cooperative, academic | 60 min | EU-NL + EU-FR + US, with Japan + Korea state-stewarded substrates + LAC multilateral-institutional convening layer (IICA + IDB + CAF) | specialist |
| 05 | Critical lens: Indigenous sovereignty and the structural critique | critical-lens | academic, policy | 60 min | Global, with Peru / Canada / Aotearoa operational anchors (East-Asia state-DPI IDSov-limits layer integrated; LAC Monsalve-Suárez / Seufert / FIAN “Big Tech Takeover” critical voice as the Latin American analog) | specialist |
| 06 | How countries shape their agrifood AI cluster: a regional comparison | regional-cluster-comparison (new — added July 2026 alongside the Japan+Korea cycle; LAC multilateral-institutional substrate layer added July 19 2026 alongside the LAC deepening cycle) | academic, policy, comparative-political-economy | 60 min | All seven regions — NA, EU, China, India, Japan, Korea, LAC — with explicit cross-regional comparison | specialist |
How to choose
If you’re not sure which to start from, work through this decision tree:
- Is the audience Canadian and farmer-facing? → 02 (data sovereignty) or 03 (adoption diagnosis).
- Is the audience non-specialist and you need to introduce the field? → 01 (vendor sweep).
- Is the audience policy or sector-insider and the talk is short? → 03 (adoption diagnosis).
- Is the audience policy / cooperative / academic and the talk is about alternatives? → 04 (cooperative alternative).
- Is the audience academic / policy and the talk is about the structural critique? → 05 (critical lens).
- Is the audience academic / comparative-political-economy and the talk is about cross-regional cluster patterns? → 06 (regional-cluster-comparison).
What each archetype contains
Each archetype file includes:
- A header card (audience, duration, spine, depth, region emphasis)
- A run-of-show with named segments and time budgets
- Named units (with file paths) and named quotes (with file paths) for each segment
- A freshness check
- A list of deviations / substitutions for common contexts
Status
Six archetypes as of mid-July 2026 (five load-bearing + one meta-pattern archetype added with the Japan+Korea cycle). The cluster-pattern observation has matured across six regional deepening cycles into a canonical cluster-pattern vocabulary in talks/cluster-pattern-taxonomy.md; archetype 06 draws on it.
Cycle history (older cycle annotations archived to talks/cycle-history-archive.md for compactness):
- LAC deepening cycle (July 19 2026) — 7 new units + ecosystem-pattern observation; methodology integrated.
- Brazilian beef + Chile-Canada seed AI cycle (July 19 2026) — cluster-with-tension + cross-border cluster patterns; methodology integrated.
- Argentine beef + Brazilian seed AI cycle (July 19 2026) — five-driver layered-mix LAC observation; methodology integrated.
- MENA + Lebanon deep cycle (July 19 2026, scout-then-deep) — three-sub-pattern MENA observation; partial-focus Lebanon methodology move.
- Spain + North Africa deep cycle (July 19 2026, scout-then-deep) — EU-cluster-pattern layered-mix + MENA five-cluster-pattern refinement; Mediterranean-sub-region bridge.
- Spanish cooperatives + farming + food + AI cycle (July 19 2026, scout-then-deep) — cluster-with-three-structures cross-region pattern observation; Mondragón institutional-federation-anchor + emerging-single-coop deployment.
Methodology revision July 19 2026: promoted cluster-pattern vocabulary out of archetype 06 into a standalone cluster-pattern-taxonomy doc; refreshed README + index + VISION status reflection; added cross-archetype 01 / 04 / 05 cross-refs to Argentine beef / Brazilian seed / MENA / Spanish cooperatives / Mondragón (see current commit history for details).
Spines not yet covered (suggested for next iteration as corpus grows):
- AI and labour / succession (anchor units: lely-astronaut, naio-technologies, quotes/torrie-jeff-lely-succession)
- AI in food processing (anchor units: soralink-export-food-processing, loblaw-blue-yonder-forecasting)
- AI and the climate transition (anchor units: china-deepening-scan, john-deere-see-and-spray)
- AI and smallholder agriculture (anchor units: pinduoduo-smart-agriculture-competition, agrosmart-brazil, xag-china-drone-leader)
- Cooperative-statutory-vs-corporate-statutory context framing (anchor units: mondragon-corporation-cooperative-federation, spain-cooperative-cluster-pattern)
- Cluster-pattern-as-archetype (currently hosted in cluster-pattern-taxonomy.md; load-bearing if a future cycle produces dedicated cluster-pattern archetype)
When one of these becomes a load-bearing talk, it gets an archetype.
