Context

Pillaud’s structural critique of the agritech funding model. The conventional VC thesis (invest early, scale to billion-dollar valuations, exit) doesn’t apply to agriculture because the underlying market doesn’t support the returns. Pillaud argues that the response is cooperative / commons-based AI infrastructure, not unicorn-scaling rhetoric. Worth knowing because the funding-model critique is structurally distinct from IPES-Food’s corporate-concentration critique — different diagnosis, both real.
